Currently Mano Sankalpa Special School for Mentally Handicapped is serving 12 special children having various mental disorders and difficulties. Below indicates details of each special children:

V. Kuldeep: Kuldeep is a 8 years autistic boy. His main mode of communication is non verbal. He has difficulty in using gestures and imitation. By repeated calling only he responds even though eye contact is not maintained. Comprehends facial expressions and expresses his needs through pointing and crying. He has behavioural problems. Dies not sit at one place. Poor speech development. Speech and understanding are delayed. Hits other when he gets angry. Self injurious, has meaningless speech, disinterested in communication. He prefers of being left alone.

Dhanish Mehta: Dhanish is a 14 years severely mentally retarded boy. He has Epilepsy, speech problem, hyper active. He is unable to sit at one place, wandering around aimlessly, biting others, having hearing deficit. He used hearing aids and his mental age is 1.5 years. He has low eye contact, behavioural problems, poor cognitive skills, biting others and self when angry. He likes sound and music.

Saithri Baswa: Saithri is a 10 years old mild autistic child. Having good motor function, low comprehension, disinterested in communication. Poor or no response to speech, not interested in asking questions or pointing at things. Meaningless speech, lack of understanding of relational meaning. Lack of eye contact, repeated body movements, preference of being left alone. Self injurious, having unusual musical talent. Fear of animals, always closes her ears with fingers. Unable to mix with others for play.

K. Nagasai Nitin: Nitin is 5 years old down syndrome boy. Having poor eye contact. low comprehension, poor eye coordination. Having speech problem, behavioural problem, hits and pinches others. He cries without reason.

Divya Beheti: Divya is a 7 years old down syndrome girl. She is having speech problem, poor attention, low concentration, poor eye hand co-ordination, poor eye contact. she is having low comprehension, very stubborn and hyperactive.

Charishma: Charishma is a 4 years old down syndrome girl. She is having cerebral palsey. Total body is affected having speech problem, poor eye contact, low comprehension, poor motor function. She cannot sit for 5 minutes and can't hold objects in hand momentarily.

Visweshwar Reddy: Eswar is a 11 years old severely mentally retarded boy. He is having speech problem, vision problem, Epilepsey, poor eye contact, low comprehension. He is very stubborn and self injurious.

D. Vinith: Vinith is a 9 years mild autistic boy.

He is having low comprehension.

Sirisha: Sirisha is a 14 years mildly retarded girl. No Previous education and parents kept her at home previously due to no support(prior to joining Mano Sankalpa). Milestones are delayed, very stubborn and no academic skills.

Sandeep: Sandeep is a 8 years mildly mentally retarded boy. Very hyperactive, hits others, poor in academics and not interested in reading and writing.

Saibaba: Saibaba is a 8 years old boy having hearing impaired, hyper active. He hits others and poor in academics. He is independant in self help skills

Tej Vivek: Tej is a 7 years old boy moderatelly mentally retarded. He is having crebral palsely, speech problems and his motor function is very poor.

Expansion of Mano Sankalpa Special School for Mentally Handicapped

Currently Mano Sankalpa Special for Mentally Handicapped is serving 12 special children having various mental disabilities at free of cost. We have finished 2 years of service successfully and planning to expand quickly from 2010 new academic year(starting from June 2010). Planning to shift into new premises with better infrastructure and transportation so that we can give more quality services for current and more special children. As a charity organization, we are extremely commited towards this service with no looking back and very welcome to any individual who may want give a helping hand in serving.

6th Regional Parents Meet 2009 for parents of mentally retardation

Parivaar, Parivaar CCH and NIMH has jointly conducted 6th regional parents meet 2009 for parents of children with mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities. Special teachers from Mano Sankalpa Special school for mentally handicapped has also participated in this event as the school is also a member of Parivaar. This event happened from 5th December to 6th December 2009 in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India. The main theme of this event was for "Creating possibilities for an inclusive society". It was led by Sr. B. Ramajoga Rao, President of Parivaar CCH.

National Level Training Programme on Beggary Prevention, Tirupathi, India

National Institute of Social Defence, Govt. of India, New Delhi and Deptartment of Population

studies and social work, Sri Venkateshwara University, Tirupathi has conducted the National Level Training Programme on Beggary Prevention on 12th August 2009. Various NGO organizations of Andhra Pradesh, India has participated to get the awareness on how to prevent beggary in rural and urban areas of Andhra Pradesh, India. Dr. Hemanth Kumar, founder of Mano Chaitanya Human Services and Mrs. Rajitha, Principal of Mano Sankalpa Special School had participated as representatives of MCHS NGO in this training. This training has widened their awareness on various social services and commitment towards social services.

On 28th Jan 2009, Swathi Art Creations has awarded Dr. Hemanth Kumar, founder president of Mano Chaitanya Human Services for his excellent services rendered towards the poor in rural areas. He has served the poor as an NGO from the last 12+years. Dr. Hemanth Kumar along with Mr. Ramesh Baswa has also started Mano Sankalpa Special School for Mentally Handicapped in last year serving many MR children in Hyderabad.

Nutrition Support for HIV/AIDS in Women

The founder of Mano Chaitanya Human Services, Dr. Hemanth Kumar and Principal of Mano Sankalpa Special School for mentally handicapped Mrs. Rajitha Baswa has participated in 2 day long session(from 2nd June 2009 to 3rd June 2009) in Bangalore. This was associated to "Nutrition support for HIV/AIDS in women and children as orientation programme for representatives of voluntary organizations from South India". Information was very helpful in giving the right counselling to women having HIV/AIDS. We at Mano Chaitanya Human Services are commited to voluntary services and charity programmes including Mano Sankalpa Special school for mentally handicapped.

In a local invitation meeting, Principal of Mano Sankalpa Special School Mrs. Rajitha Baswa has met Mrs. Sabitha Indra Reddy, the Honourable Home minister of A.P. and presented a Memo from Mano Chaitanya Human Services. Mrs. Rajitha has explained in detail about the programmes conducted by Mano Chaitanya Human Services in Ranga Reddy district and Mano Sankalpa Special School in Hyderabad.

MACH Mobile Solutions visits

On 11th Wednesday Feb 2009, Jon Taylor(Product Manager of MACH Mobile Solutions) has visited Mano Sankalpa Special School for Mentally Handicapped. He has spent his valuable time at the school premises enquiring about the school's day to day activities. He was very keen in knowing about the progress of 8 special children in the school. He did also visited the women empowerment programs happening at the same premises. His visit has brought some more cheers to the school and it's activities. Entire staff at school felt very happy with his visit. Momento was presented to Jon Taylor in remembrance of his key interest towards this noble cause. Thanks to him for his visit and precious times he spent at the school.

On 24th Saturday Jan 2009, employees of MACH Mobile Solutions, Catherine Lawrence, Bev and Brenda Gyamfi visited Mano Sankalpa Special School for Mentally Handicapped . They did spent their precious times with special children and enquired about the various facilities available at the school given for free of cost. They were very curious to know about each special child and their status. They have also spent their times at Women Empowerement programs recently started at school. They were understood various vocational trainings like stitching, weaving, candle making, embroidary making, leaflet making etc which were imparted to women in that areas at free of cost. Their visit has brought more cheers into the school and it's activiies. Entire staff, children and management felt very touched by this visit. Momentos were presented to Catherine, Bev and Brenda in remembrance for their times and interest towards this noble cause. Thanks to them for their visit and precious times.

Free Eye Surgical Camp

On 11th Jan 2009, Mano Sankalpa Special School(working under Mano Chaitanya Human Services) has collabarated with Lions Club and L.V. Prasad Hospital, Hyderabad in setting up a Free Eye Surgical Camp in it's premises. Around 114 people has availed this facility wherein free medicine has been given for the needed people after the required medical checkups immedietaly. Free Spectacles has been distributed on the same day for those needed after checkups. Free operations has been performed by L.V. Prasad Hospital, Hyderabad for those needed and they have been discharged after 2 days stay at this hospital(served completely free of stay). This service has been extended towards the society surrounding Mano Sankalpa Special School and we are commited to do such activities apart from serving Special children in the future as well. We always welcome those who are interested to participate with us in serving the society.

Pulse Polio Program on 21 Dec 2008

Mano Sankalpa Special School for Mentally Handicapped working under Mano Chaitanya Human Services(NGO organization) has worked on 21st Dec 2008 with Ministry of Welfare, Andhra Pradesh government towards a Pulse Polio program at it's premises. Hundreds of families surrounding the school has availed this facility by bringing their children to take pulse polio drops at our center. Our organization is trying to actively participe in all social activites helping people in all respects wherever possible. This program is a gesture towards that notion of helping the society.

16th National Parents Meet by Parivaar (National Federation) and NIMH in Hyderabad on 15th and 16th December 2008

I am Ramesh Baswa currently working in an IT company in Hyderabad. I was working in Manchester, UK in IT field and came back to Hyderabad, India in 2005. One of the main reason for shifting is my daughter, Saithri (currently 9 years of age) who is having autism spectrum disorder. Once I shifted to India, I started thinking towards social activities and thought to help such children having disabilities. I joined with Dr. Hemanth Kumar(very active NGO in Hyderabad) in setting up a special school in Hyderbad namely "Mano Sankalpa Special School for Mentally Handicapped". We did set it up in a rented house in Mohan Nagar, Kothapet, Hyderabad with our own and trying to continue so. Currently we are supporting 8 such children having various disabilities like celebral pulsey, down syndrome, mentally retarted, autistic for free of cost. We are having specially trained teachers supporting these children. We are well equipped with Physio Therapist, Speech Therapist, Psychiatrist and Behavioural Therapist while suporting these children. We have recently started vocational trainings for those children who have higher IQs. We have various vocational trainings like candle making, leaflet/paper plate making, stitching, weaving, computer training etc. The long term goal is to support residential for special children and use innovative ideas to bring up this children. There are hundreds and thousands of poor disabled children in rural areas who don't have any access to special schools and medical treatments. Our vision is to make it a big organization in future where we support such special children with innovative ideas, do research in this direction to come up with creative ideas(like use of Yoga, Pranayama and Ayurveda treatments for the disabled). We also want to incorporate facilities to train special teachers in helping such children.
We are constantly trying to make this organization self sustained and move forward in a structured way but we need active support from all to make it a big success in supporting this noble cause. We want to make this as an opportunity for all to involve in such noble cause.
